I suppose it's been a good weekend for all fans of the EPL huh? (Unless you're a Chelsea fan, of course).
Manure winning 1-0 was a breath of fresh air (and bear in mind, I don't usually have a lot of good things to say about them), and Liverpool finally getting an Away win was great too (That, coupled with the Champion's League win, was a mighty great result).
Anyway, I'm here not to gloat, and not to jump with joy, but to point out a frankly incresingly brilliant feature on Soccernet that I'm really starting to enjoy: The Team of The Week.
Yes, it's another of those features that highlight the best players over the weekend. It used to be pretty boring, but lately, the writers have spruced it up by making it really funy and creative. Check out this week's, which is a series of poems dedicated to each of the players in the team. Check out Stevie G's Ode:
O Captain! My Captain! O CAPTAIN! My Captain, our dreaded task is done, Our foes are vanquished with two late goals, and the three points are won, For you, the bouquets and the Champagne, for you the fans a-crowding, For you they call, the swaying masses, though for us the skies are still clouding; Here Captain! Dear Stevie! Giver of our daily bread, How sad you look, to see Our title dreams still cold and dead. For the rest, Check out Soccernet's
TEAM OF THE WEEK here.
And check out last week's as well, which was equally hilarious,
HERE.
