Football: Goals, Goals, Goals!

What a weekend it was. Lots of goals everywhere, Liverpool winning, and a thrilling North London derby to savor. Lots of great goals, lots of abysmal defending, but lots of fun to watch.

First up, Liverpool won 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace. Baros scored a hat-trick, which included two penalties he himself won. The second penalty was the match-winning one, scored in the dying minutes of the match, when I thought we'd be drawing the game. Thank god Baros is on form. With our lack of strikers now, I'm just glad that the only one left standing is at least scoring, and that he is not Emile Heskey.

Next, the North London derby. Tottenham 4-5 Arsenal. NINE goals, some really bad defending, and a match that was more like an NBA match, with both teams trading goals for fun. It was great fun to watch, but not as fun for my brother, an Arsenal fan, who was left biting his nails when Kanoute scored Spurs' fourth goal to make it 4-5.

Good entertainment overall, with the only blip being Newcastle losing 3-1 to Man U at home, and Valencia slipping further off the pace in La Liga by drawing 0-0 at home.
